Giving My Best

Giving My Best is a rock band, focusing primarily to play Christian gospel songs. Their rock style made them popular among Christian community in Indonesia. On Band's History Giving My Best, was formed ten years ago, to be exact on April 1996, with their significant performance held in Red Top Hotel Pecenongan, Jakarta. With youngsters as targeted listeners, the band members who are Sidney Mohede (singer), Pongky Prasetyo (Keyboard), Daniel Sigalarki (Huitars), Adi Prasodjo (percussions), Amos Cahyadi (Drums) and Jeffrey Hermanto (Bass) believed that together they could be a blessing for the young generations by making a breakthrough in Indonesian's Christian Music scene, which at the time was not making such phenomenal progress. On Vision and Mission "We see that GMB should influence generations in this world, with the Word of God through praise and worship, and that we should be blessings for the world." said leading man, Sidney Mohede, when asked about the band's vision. As for the mission, GMB keeps it simple as to reach more and more youngsters through the praise and worship. On Band's Genre GMB's songs are very easy listening, all in the pop rock genre which are very popular among youngsters. Their songs are always the new-favorites to be sang in many youth churches. "Well, that's just how we like it. It's not like we try to keep up with the youngster's taste all the time. That's exactly the kind of music that we like, we are all young in hearts you know." Explained Sidney as a response to the band's very youthful-sounding songs. On The Meaning of Worship With what they said as vertical-style music, GMB always assures their listeners, that they are communicating with God through their music instead of human. Listen to numbers of their songs and you will recognize instantly that this statement is very true. On Previous & Most Recent Albums With 9 albums released in total, Sidney said that their previous albums have been so great so far. The band always gave their best on each album, so each album is presented with such hard work and sacrifice from each member. But, their latest album "The Best is Yet to Come' (2006) is the best so far for the band themselves. "The best is always yet to come, and this album is the best so far for us. And we believe, that we'll keep making better album in the future." On Trial and Challenges One of the trials and challenges that the band finds as hardest is to keep innovating and being creative in making all the songs.
